You Don't Need Talent to Give Effort
I have a Masters of Education, Instructional Specialist, as well as a Bachelors degree in Visual art and an Associate’s degree in Graphic Design. I completed the ATCP from the University of Texas at El Paso. As my resume shows I have passed the certification to teach art at all levels and technology in Texas as well as my PPR Licensing in Texas. In Colorado I have passed the Place Exam for art and have received my license to teach art at all levels and technology. It is my desire to become a known artist in the community and to further my career as an art teacher.
My Masters of Education, Instructional Specialist is in Technology, which I believe this degree works well with my graphic arts degree and adds to my potential as a teacher in the years to come. While earning my degree I have become a member of several honor societies that require high GPA’s to be invited to join. Currently I am employed as a teacher for Mrachek Middle School in Aurora as the art teacher. My students have competed in the district art show as well as moving on to the all city show. At Mrachek I have created a robotics club working with both EV3 robots and BEST Robotics Competition. Over the last few years I have completed training through CU Boulder with Scalable Game design and have taught basic video game programming. Prior to moving back to Colorado I taught art at the Da Vinci school for Science and the Arts as the middle and High School art teacher. Finally it is my opinion that while not everyone can be a great artist I do hold that everyone can appreciate art. Students can be shown how all types of arts betters the world and how art can be used to increase understandings of other subjects in and out of the school system.
In my time as a teacher I have worked hard as a member of my school to make my students educational experience the best that they have known. My students have competed in art shows every year and have earned high honors. I have been a coach on the Robotics teams, yearbook staff, as well as the Fine Arts Co-chair. As an art teacher I am confident in my artistic abilities and knowledge of the arts. As an artist in Colorado I have been in numerous art shows such as the Evergreen Art Association art show and Dava. While living in El Paso I have been in the Sun Bowl Art Exhibits, Virgin De Guadalupe and Something Different art shows.
